The film: Megan Hill and Hello Super 8

Sara & Callum’s Palm Springs wedding highlights from Hello Super 8 on Vimeo.

After a fair amount of debate, we eventually decided to work with Megan Hill of Hello Super 8. She uses vintage Super 8 cameras to film the wedding on 8mm. On my side, I love the look of the film itself, and I think they do great work, but we were stuck in tough decision between two very different but great people to work with. So I called in my sister – who has some expertise and credentials in this area – to help us break the tie.

In her words…

…they have a great sense of tone, timing, each felt like a dreamy, engaging story – nicely executed little narrative films…I was INTERESTED in the WEDDING VIDEOS of PEOPLE I DON’T KNOW.

From her, I took this as pretty high praise, and that was enough to convince everyone else, too.

For our wedding photographer, we have decided to work with Danny Weiss. Danny has a documentary style combined with an outgoing personality, enabling him to interact with his subjects comfortably capture some really great stuff. When you are here next June, expect to get to talk to him for a bit before he takes your picture. More of his work is available on his blog.

The music: Dexter Lake Club Band

We decided to have the NY-based Dexter Lake Club Band play at our wedding. They are awesome. They mostly play 80s covers, such as…

Its easy to see why I am excited. But even my future father-in-law liked them at the Showcase. Sweet.
